Select the configurator
Getting your quote is easy. To start, simply login into the S.M.S. website and select the Quick Cost configurator, the Advanced configurator or the Cinema Only configurator.
Enter details
Select either the dedicated “Cinema only configurator” or the “Smart home & cinema configurator”. Then enter the details of your home/project and follow the steps of the configurator to define your ideal system. You’ll see the fixed & accurate system price and a summary of your systems functionality & quality level.
Register account
If you would like to receive your quote in PDF format via email or move to the next step of confirming your purchase, simply follow the link and register your account with S.M.S.

Stage 2
Log in to your account on the S.M.S. site and select the appropriate name of your project/house. Ensure that you address any of the queries that the system flags for your attention. If you want to change any aspect of your system simply click “edit” and make the required changes.
Stage 3
If you are happy with the system, click to proceed. The payment schedule for your project will then be displayed. An invoice will be provided to commence your project. Payment for your project will be in the following stages:
Payment 1 - Deposit
(Typically less than 5% of the project total)
Due: Before work starts
Payment 2 – First fix cabling
Due: 2 weeks before cabling is required on-site
Payment 3 - Equipment pre-build & configuration
Due: 3 months before your anticipated project completion date
Payment 4 - Built-in Equipment
Due: 6 weeks before your anticipated project completion date
Payment 5 - Completion payment
Due: After project completion and sign off
Stage 4
Your project begins
Once you have paid the initial deposit invoice the S.M.S. team will then produce your systems design work within 7 days. These files will be sent to your account portal. An S.M.S. project manager will be allocated to your project and will get in touch with you to discuss your project timescales, chosen installer and arrange a date for an initial site meeting.
Site review
Your S.M.S. project manager will visit the site with you and your chosen on-site installer to review cabling routes, equipment locations and any general queries or concerns.
Stage 5
Cables
S.M.S will deliver cables to the site so that your chosen on-site installer can start work. Once cabling installation is completed, your S.M.S. project manager will visit to check all cabling before the plastering begins.
Rack Build
Whilst your project is being wired on site our team begin work building your smart home equipment rack and lighting control panels and configuring and labelling all the equipment ready for plug and play installation on site
Customisation
After plastering, the client can use the S.M.S portal to confirm the final measurements of any smart blinds or curtain tracks and the required fabric finish, the names of the lighting circuits to be controlled by the smart system and the smart lighting keypad finishes and bespoke button engraving desired.
Hardware delivery & installation
S.M.S. will then visit site to sign off all cabling and deliver all built in equipment to site – speakers, patch panels, TV brackets, pre-programmed lighting control equipment and any other smart systems for simple installation around your home.
Built in equipment installation review
Your S.M.S. project manager will visit site again to review the installation of all built in equipment and sockets etc with you & your electrician and address any queries or issues before the delivery of the smart home equipment rack is approved.
Control4 Programming and Testing
The S.M.S. team now have all the information required to fully pre program your Control4 smart home system and test all equipment and system functionality before the system is packed ready for delivery.
Rack delivery
Your S.M.S. project manager will then deliver the smart equipment rack to site for easy plug and play installation by your electrician.
Commissioning & Handover
An on-site commissioning and handover visit will take place with your S.M.S. project manager & commissioning engineer to customisation the system to your preferences.
Snag work
Completion of any physical installation snagging work by your electrician.
Sign off
After any final snags are addressed by your installer and your system has been commissioned by S.M.S, your system will be handed over to you along with your system documentation and programming files and you will be introduced to the S.M.S. service team who will look after all remote and in home service for your system going forward.
Stage 6
Sit back and relax!
It’s now time to enjoy your smart home as it was intended! The S.M.S. service team will introduce you to our service scheme for any servicing or maintenance you may require in the future. When creating your smart home with S.M.S. you will receive 12 months of free servicing.
